Orchids tend to survive in the most inhospitable conditions very little water is required and that's why they are usually found in a bark like substance. they don't like too much cold , a short spell often sparks the flower stems into life, Survival is the prime intention of an Orchid Occasionally the flower stems produce small plants as against the normal flowers and with a small plastic bag with some orchid compost tied around each root ball then new plants will take off. They do require a lot of T L C and don't be disappointed when it all goes wrong.

Tank humidity to high?!?

I put down some new substrate in my crested geckos tank, exo terra plantation soil, it's been in there for about 2 days. the stuff is sort of damp and moist, since I put it in the tank, the humidity has been way to high, I've turned on the air conditioner,which helped a little, but the humidity went back up! I have to spray the tank so my gecko will drink.. what do I do? the humidity should be about 70%. it's like 90!%

Fiat Bravo gets stuck in gear?

I have an approx 2000 Fiat Bravo that occasionally gets stuck in gear, the clutch also gets stuck half way down and so I have no option but to shut off the engine from stopping the car plough into the car in-front or into a busy crossing. This fixes it momentarily until I get to the next set of lights or have to down-shift. It mostly happens when I first start the car, does anyone know what it could be?

Yes, I use the Melitta type. You use a fine grind, about 2 Tbsp per cup of the ground coffee. Maybe a bit less, depending on your taste and the type of coffee. The people I usually make coffee for were used to logging camp coffee so they like it kind of strong. Fine grind is between "drip" and "espresso", if you're grinding it at the store. I grind it at home, which gives best flavour, and I just grind it until the machine won't get it any finer.

So knee and hip injuries and 2 (maybe 4?) knee surgeries?? Yea, that's definitely nuisance...probably more...especially with the ACL if you're doing sports where you're twisting the hell out of your knee (dancing/tumbling). The high impact on your feet won't help your hips either. So I guess you could say that constant impact/tearing on the areas that put stress on the ligaments that KEEP you from twisting and cusion impact will screw you up. Get it fixed and heal, then go play, otherwise you'll spend years with that "nagging" injury and possibly screw yourself up for a while....it's worth the wait/fix time, there's always next summer.

Just installed Windows 7... Need some help getting Wi-fi?

I just installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit on my IBM ThinkPad T42, and I have no idea how to connect to Wi-fi hotspots. I know that the computer is indeed capable of connecting to a hotspot, as I had Windows XP professional prior to Windows 7 (which came with the computer) and I could connect. The internet options on my computer are only Broadband and dial-up. I didn't think anyone used dial up anymore and I don't even know what 'Broadband' means. The unsecured wireless hotspot I used before with Windows XP I don't think even belongs to us. There is absolutely NO way to connect my computer to the internet right now (I am writing this on a Mac which uses the same wi-fi network I want to connect my ThinkPad to). I have literally no idea how to do anything with 'drivers' or whatever those are. So would anybody be so kind as to post idiot friendly step by step instructions on how to get wi-fi on my computer? Also, when I try to turn on my wi-fi with the hardware switch (which is actually just the keyboard command "Fn+F5") Nothing happens, the indicator light stays off, no lights come on, no indication of anything. Anybody have any idea?

But you also might be anemic (low iron) right now and that could be causing the fatigue. Be sure to mention the fatigue to your doctor so he can do some blood tests to find out if you are running low on any of the tests. If you are not on the medication yet, the upset tummy that feels like it's on fire could be from stress. As I'm sure you are stressing right now. Some people have "weak" stomachs so that anytime something is stressfull for them they feel it in their stomachs sometimes to the point of nausea, vomiting and Diarrhea. See your doctor ASAP and ask him all those questions. And hope you get to feeling better soon.

How long does a red foot tortoise sleep a day?

i just got a 4 inch red foot tortoise 3 days ago. it was super active the first night moving everything around and exploring its new house. but the last two days it has been sleeping almost 22 hours a day except to eat and lay in the water. the temp is around 90 degrees in the baskin and around 82 on the other side of the tank where it has a log to hide and sleep in. the humidity is around 70 percent and i have plantation soil ( coconut shavings) with beach moss on top. i was told that the finer substrate underneath would help keep the humidity up. i mist regulary and change water a couple times a day. maybe i am just paranoid and nothing is wrong. i have over 15 years expierence in dogs, cats, rodents and fish but this is my first reptile and am worried. i am a newbee and dont know much, any advice would be very helpfull.

Working retail can be Hell honey, trust me! I worked it for 8 years and was yelled and sworn at and had complaints that were false. Some people are just rude or having a bad day and take it out on others. It wasn't you or the job you did, it was anyone who she came across. She probably was embarred by miscounting her money and having an alarm go off. I worked at a jewelry counter and did ear piercings and for a minor to get their ears pierced, they had to have a parent or guardian with to fill out the paperwork and show proper id and verify information. There are signs that post that in the department and I remember one minor who wanted her ears done and was with friends. I told her sorry, it can't be done unless one of her parents or a guardian was with. She was so mad and caused a scene by yelling and swearing and wrote out a complaint saying I was rude and nasty by not piercing her. Minors can't get it done without written parental consent because what if the parents don't allow piercings and the child gets it done behind their back? That's the whole reason for the store policy on minors, so parents can't come back and sue for wrongly piercing their child. Don't worry about it too much, I'm sure you do a great job and just had a nasty customer. Just ignore the nasty ones and there are so many good customers out there that cancel out the bad ones. One complaint isn't going to hurt you, just move on and it will go away after awhile. Tomorrow is a new day and things will be better!!

My great-great-grandfather was the youngest of many kids born to William Henry Stines and Mary Elizabeth Haner. He was born in 1876 in Richmond, Wayne, Indiana. His parents are the ones that I am having problems finding more information on; I know William was born 1833 in Hanover, Germany to John Henry Stines (born 1789) and Elizabeth Mary (born 1805), and Mary was born in the same place to John Frederick Henry Haner (born 1806, died 1884) and unknown, but the problem lies in finding their birth records. I do not have access to records from Germany, so if anyone has any tips, pointers, or just plain research help, it would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

First of all. Make sure the car is roadworthy. Fix your brakes and that exhaust leak, make sure it will p an inspection. In my experience of working on all sorts of trucks and cars, I always do engine and work first just in case you accidentally scratch the paint. When all is good under the car, work inside the car. New carpet, seats, stereo or whatever you would like to do, then do the outside last. Just my thoughts. Don't get in over your head and buy a whole crap load of parts. Focus on the task at hand. Another thing to think about is, you can do just as much to your transmission as you can to the engine. Sounds like you need to sign up on an online forum for cars, ask one question at a time and take your time when you're working on your car.

on someone w/brown hair and lightly tanned skinned? I have a pale complexion, but often use sunless tanners which give me a light tan. I prefer light colored clothing (pastels for tops and darker pants). Though I most often see pastels on blondes w/light eyes, and have been told dark colors like navy and burgundy suit darker people. I hate these colors because they show lint so easily, and also light colors make me look tanner (I hate my pale skin/dark hair contrast). I'm 16, very loud and outgoing. When I'm with my friends I always try to make them laugh with imitations, and I also try to amuse them with stories of funny things I have come upon/experienced ( I do this in a rather enthusiastic manner.. Seems like you have been through alot with this whole potty training thing. First off, I know its hard, but lower your stress level. Kids can sense when were stressed; and then they stress. And having a stressed potty trainer, not good. With you not allowing her to wear any nappies, that's a start. When she gets the urge to go wee or poo, sit her on the potty. If she cries, let her cry; as long as she's crying on the potty. It'll be hard, but worth it. She said she has to go, so, she needs to stay there until she goes. Sooner or later, it'll come out. And if she does get up, sit her back on the potty. If she messes up the floor, teach her to clean it. And do this everytime until she actually goes in the potty. When she does go, make a big deal out of it. Pick her up and swing her around, hug and kiss on her like crazy. And reward her with a little snack. Nothing big, just enough to encourage her to do it again. Reward her for the first few times, and then stop it. You dont want her to get the impression that she's gonna get something everytime. Good luck.

I suffer from chronic ravenous hunger feeling. I never feel satiety either. I have seen many different specialists including an endocrinologist who ran all the blood tests and basically told me it wasn't a thyroid problem and I didn't have diabetes. She treated me with a shot called "Byetta" that diabetics use hoping to help my hunger, it works by slowing down the digestion of food, this did not help and I had a lot of fatigue after using it, but "fatigue" is not even a side effect. Other symptoms include disruption of sleep and when I eat anything with carbs, say just a single banana, or a yogurt, or a sandwich, I become very sleepy and fatigue and unable to function properly. When I was in college I couldn't eat all day because it would make me too tired, it's weird but I have more energy when I don't eat. For years I woke up in the middle of the night starving and could not sleep until I ate something, which caused a lot of weight gain. I lost this weight sticking to a very healthy strict diet, but I couldn't sleep. I have seen a nutritionist and eaten like a normal person and I just lose mive amounts of weight when I eat normal portions. I've always thought it was connected to my sleep but the sleep specialist here had never heard of this. I can eat a huge meal, fall asleep for 30 minutes, an hour, or 4 hours, and I always wake up ravenous, worse than if I had stayed awake. I understand this could be psychosomatic as I do suffer from anxiety and depression but my psychologist and psychiatrist, both each with 30 years experience individually, have never heard of this symptom and aren't sure how to treat it. It is not medicinal either. I was referred to Shands psychiatric center, because of depression and insomnia, they had never heard of this either. Last thing, it becomes 2, 3, 4 times as bad when I'm stressed and having anxiety, but the problem started before I ever had any anxiety. COULD THERE BE A PHYSIOLOGICAL CAUSE? Also, suffer from central pain syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, and interstitial cystitis.

This is a difficult position you are in. All i can really think of since you hesitate to give him money directly, is how about gift cards? He wont be able to return the items for cash, and it will actually help him buy the things he needs to make it out on his own for a little while. Little things like gas cards, maybe a grocery card, etc. I know you said he doesnt have hobbies, but everyone has something they do daily or almost every day. Does he have a favorite diner? does he work out? maybe you can pay for one of the membership months. does he occasionaly go to movies? get a gift certificate for movies and drinks/popcorn... instead of the big picture, try looking at the smaller things he likes, and do a bunch together. Wrap his favorite body wash, favorite soda, candy, food, anything in a giant basket, things you know he will use, every little bit helps someone on their own.

Help please.. I saved a 1 year old puppy from the pound. I felt so bad for her she was shaking in the corner and scared to death I thought she was abused. The pound said the owner had a stroke and someone brough her and 4 other dogs in. She is actually housebroken so she couldnt be a stray. she is TERRIFIED to walk on the leash, go outside, and she goes into a corner in the house and will not move. If I pick her up and put her in the open she will lay where I put her only. She will scoot to her food when she doesnt think you are watching. My older dog trys to get her to play but she just lays there and looks at him. It is so sad. I am at a loss. She trys to run under cars outside or if she sees a corner she trys to go there. She will NOT walk on the leash at all I have to carry her to the gr. I know I can love her enough and I have patience I just feel a little helpless and so sad that she wont move from where i put lay her. She is not mean at all but like a little scared mouse

Hey guys and gals, I seem to have a bit of "a down in the dumps" moment I can't seem to shake. I am mainly asking this for something to kick start me back in to gear and get motivated about life again. It would be awesome if this was something I could reuse when these times come again. But here is a little back ground information. Relationship: going good now, no problems con mi amor. friends is kinda wishy washy with a few of them, mainly just due to a lack of seeing them. If a university has a medical school, do they give preferential treatment to applicants who obtained their BA there? For example, ECU has the Brody School of Medicine.
