Looking for genealogy help on William Henry Stines and Mary Elizabeth Haner?

My great-great-grandfather was the youngest of many kids born to William Henry Stines and Mary Elizabeth Haner. He was born in 1876 in Richmond, Wayne, Indiana. His parents are the ones that I am having problems finding more information on; I know William was born 1833 in Hanover, Germany to John Henry Stines (born 1789) and Elizabeth Mary (born 1805), and Mary was born in the same place to John Frederick Henry Haner (born 1806, died 1884) and unknown, but the problem lies in finding their birth records. I do not have access to records from Germany, so if anyone has any tips, pointers, or just plain research help, it would be very much appreciated! Thanks!
