Have the decentling "intellectuals" in WB any Economic agenda ?

India has to feed 104 crore of people daily, WB has its increasing share. Common man is primerily concerned for bread , clothing and a shelter. When these are fulfilled s/he purchases novels , go to theater hall and the lucky ones enjoys visiting art exhibitions. (they hardly afford to purchase an art work).In recent times TV viewing with lots of Tele-ads may include. Economy play a major role in their daily lives. When WB is on a "growth-path", what role are the decenting intellctuals playing right now ? What are their say for the development of this state ? How they are going to help the state for more and more development for the growing un-employed or to counter disguised employment ? How they may fetch more "investements" ? How far is their commitment for the economic-betterment of people at large ? The fact is " they are not concerned ".. then why the people should hear / join them ? They are knowingly or un-knowingly colluding with the anti-development forces in WB....
