What clothing colors look best...?

on someone w/brown hair and lightly tanned skinned? I have a pale complexion, but often use sunless tanners which give me a light tan. I prefer light colored clothing (pastels for tops and darker pants). Though I most often see pastels on blondes w/light eyes, and have been told dark colors like navy and burgundy suit darker people. I hate these colors because they show lint so easily, and also light colors make me look tanner (I hate my pale skin/dark hair contrast). Especially if you're tan or dark skinned with dark hair and eyes, what colors would you suggest?
